To all:
I have joined the world of Twitter…I fear I will never be the same.

I posted the following on my company’s blog, but I felt it was important enough to post here too:

If you work for or anyone that you know works for IBM, you or your family/friend must absolutely read this article. IBM is getting ready to lay off over 100,000 workers by the end of 2007. Robert X. Cringely, the author, is rarely wrong or ill-informed and he is deeply concerned about this rumor since he has friends that work for Big Blue. So, please, give the article a read.

In light of Steve Job’s keynote speech at MacWorld this morning, I outline below my inevitable transition from a decrepit PC-dungeon-of-a-home-network to a new breath of super sweet hyper-oxygenated air in my new Mac-dom:
Mac Mini
Airport Extreme
AppleTV
iPhone (yes, we will be switching to Cingular)
Only a little time now until our lives in the Willey household will change.

I haven’t posted in a long, long, long while, but this image posted on CrunchGear’s blog made me laugh out loud. I loved it so much, I had to post it here for all to see:

And to follow my friend Zack’s lead, here’s a glimpse of what I’ve been up to, since I clearly haven’t been blogging:

If Yamaha’s new fuel cell scooter comes to the US, I may just ditch my Honda Metro for one of these bad boys.

IE7 vs. Firefox 2
October 19th, 2006
I’ve downloaded the brand-spankin’ new Internet Explorer 7 and I have to say I was quite impressed. I’m not going to use it. But I’m still impressed. Microsoft’s finally joined the Tabbed browsing world and added a Close button on each tab which Firefox 1.5 does not have, but which will be included in their upcoming 2.0 release. IE also includes anti-phishing and increased security, as well as a built in RSS feed reader - all included in Firefox’s new 2.0 release. Once again, late to the game, the new IE includes Add-ons which Firefox has had for pretty much forever. At this point, the only thing unique or original about Internet Explorer’s new version is its Quick Tabs feature which I dig. A pat on the back for Microsoft for finally catching up, but a tsk tsk for not really pushing the innovation envelope. Especially since Firefox will probably be at version 4 before Microsoft even thinks of possibly releasing IE 7.5.

September 26th, 2006
I don’t know where I’ve been, but today is the first day I have been introduced to the world wide web beauty of mp3 blogs. If any of you knew about these magnificent jewels and you didn’t tell me, you’re off my Christmas card list for good. For, without blogs like 3hive and mp3hugger, how would I have heard of artists such as Lulluby Baxter or Tokyo Police Club. And the oasis that brings this aural dream into reality? The Hype Machine. If you haven’t visited this website yet do it. Do it now. Thought you liked Pandora? You’ll forget all about it as soon as the site loads.
I now have my portal to indie music from around the globe. Today is a good day.
